The Biden administration is currently reviewing whether or not it should increase application fees. Applications that go through U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will potentially be affected by this fee increase. Those who are applying for a marriage green card from within the United States or filing the I-130 from abroad could see an increase in government fees.
We expect the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to submit a proposal to increase fees by the end of 2022 at the latest. Once a proposal is submitted it will enter a public comment period and the new fees likely won’t go into effect until around April 2023. We will keep you informed as we learn more.
